About nimbril
What nimbril is
nimbril is a small suite of 12 fast file tools that run entirely in your browser: remove a background, compress an image, convert HEIC to JPG, beautify a screenshot, make a passport photo, sign or redact a PDF, strip EXIF data, encrypt a file, generate a QR code, trim a video, and practice a talk. There's no signup to try, and the free tier is generous. The thing that ties them together is where the work happens: on your device, not on our servers.
Never uploaded. On your device.
Your files don't leave your computer. They're never uploaded, never stored, and never used to train anything, because the processing runs locally in the browser tab. You don't have to take our word for it: turn on airplane mode and the tools still work. That's the test we want you to run, and it's the simplest proof that the file stays with you.
How this differs from upload tools and chatbots
Most online file tools (and every AI chatbot) work by sending your file to a server first. nimbril doesn't, which matters most for documents you'd never want to paste into someone else's system. The clearest example is redaction: our black-box mode flattens the marks into the pixels and rebuilds the PDF as an image, so the text underneath is genuinely gone, not a movable box you can delete to reveal what's beneath. We're honest about the limits, too: blur and pixelate only obscure text and can sometimes be reversed, so we tell you to use the black box when you need it truly erased.
Who it's for
nimbril is built first for people who handle sensitive documents for a living, like paralegals, solo and small-firm lawyers, healthcare and HR admins, and finance staff, where "never uploaded" is a plain compliance fact that helps with HIPAA, NDAs, and similar obligations. It's also for privacy-conscious people generally, and for anyone with a one-off job like editing a passport photo or signing a contract. We can't give you legal advice about your specific obligations, but we can give you a tool that keeps the file on your machine.
What we believe
We believe the safest place for your file is the one it's already on, and that privacy you can verify beats privacy you have to trust. We believe in gating extras like batch export and full-resolution output, never the privacy itself, which is why the on-device guarantee is the same on the free tier as on Pro. And we'd rather undersell than overclaim: if a feature has limits, we say so.
Honest about who we are
nimbril is new and independent, built by a very small team. We don't have years of audits, big-name logos, or a pile of testimonials to point to yet, so instead we lean on something you can check yourself: run the tools offline and watch them keep working. Pricing is straightforward when you want more, Pro is $9/month or $69/year for every tool, or $4/month for a single one. We'd rather earn trust by being verifiable than by making promises we can't prove.
